Okay, so, planning this trip to Villa Ocean… let's just say it's been… an experience. Forget perfect itineraries, this is going to be the messy, glorious truth. Buckle up, ‘que la aventura comience’!
Pre-Trip Chaos (AKA The Month Before Everything)
- The "Booking Frenzy": Honestly, felt like a contestant on a game show – click-click-click trying to snag the perfect villa. Found one! Then lost it! Then found another, and immediately forgot the dates. Then ended up booking the wrong dates entirely. (My therapist, bless her, is going to love this.) Finally, finally, we have something. Maybe. ¿De verdad es tan paradisíaco como dicen?
¡Uf! Esa palabra... 'paradisíaco'. Mira, Villa Ocean es... diferente. Sí, las playas son espectaculares. Arena blanca que cruje bajo los pies, agua turquesa... ¡de película! Recuerdo la primera vez que vi el amanecer allí... las lágrimas se me saltaron, de la belleza. Pero... y siempre hay un 'pero', ¿verdad? El paraíso perfecto no existe. Una vez, me encontré una serpiente (pequeña, afortunadamente) justo fuera de mi villa. ¡Casi me da un infarto! Y los mosquitos... ¡ay, los mosquitos! Son una plaga. Pero, al mismo tiempo, la brisa del mar, el olor a marisco fresco, la amabilidad de la gente... eso sí es glorioso. Depende de tu definición de paraíso. Si paraíso es un lugar sin mosquitos, probablemente no lo sea. Si es un lugar que te haga olvidar tus problemas... puede serlo. A veces. ¡A veces mucho!
¿Las villas son realmente lujosas? ¿Son caras?
Lujosas... depende de tu nivel de lujo. Son bonitas, amplias, con piscina privada... la mía, la Villa 27, *Dios mío*, era una maravilla. ¡Me sentía como Julia Roberts en "Come, Reza, Ama"! Pero, ¡espera! A veces, la ducha... (suspira dramáticamente) ... la ducha no tenía la presión suficiente. Te quedabas ahí, intentando enjabonarte, y nada. Un hilo de agua tibia. Y el aire acondicionado... bueno, a veces sí funcionaba, a veces no. Una vez, me desperté sudando a mares a las 3 de la mañana. ¡Horrible! La experiencia es un poco... inconsistente, digamos. ¿Caras? Sí y no. Comparado con un hostal mugriento en Hanoi, sí. Comparado con un hotel de lujo en París... son un chollo (relativamente hablando). Mira, para ser sincero, a mí me pareció un poco caro, pero... esa piscina privada... después de un día de playa, un chapuzón... ya sabes... ¿precio? Imprescindible. Y te digo, las vistas desde la Villa 27, con el amanecer reflejándose en el agua... ¡valían cada céntimo! Aunque tuviera que ducharme con una manguera de jardín. (Vale, quizás estoy exagerando lo de la manguera...) Pero casi.
¿Hay actividades para hacer? ¿Te aburriste?
Depende de lo que te guste. Hay actividades acuáticas (¡me encanta el snorkel!), excursiones (intenté una a una isla cercana... ¡pero me mareé muchísimo en el barco!), spa (¡el masaje fue INCREÍBLE!), clases de cocina... Yo, personalmente, me aburrí un poco después de unos días. Soy de esas personas que necesitan estar haciendo algo todo el tiempo. Me encanta estar en movimiento, explorar, descubrir... Así que, después de tres días de leer, nadar, comer y tomar el sol... ya estaba rabiando. ¡Necesitaba algo! Pero si te gusta relajarte, leer, tomar el sol, desconectar del mundo... ¡perfecto! Hay un montón de hamacas. El restaurante del resort es buenísimo (el pho es para morirse), pero después de un tiempo... ¿qué más? ¿Qué más puedo hacer? ¿Qué si me aburrí? ¡Sí! Después de tres días de leer, nadar y comer... estaba desesperado por algo de acción. Fui a buscar una moto para explorar la zona (¡casi me mato dos veces! ¡Por favor, no lo hagas si no sabes conducir!), pero bueno... la experiencia es lo que cuenta, ¿no? Y al menos tengo una buena historia que contar. Aunque la moto casi me mata.
