Ok, empecemos por lo importante… la ubicación. "En el corazón de la ciudad," claman. Y no mienten, ¡maldita sea! Estás literalmente en el meollo. Imagínate: sales del apartamento y ZAS, te atropella una moto (metafóricamente, claro, a menos que seas muy torpe como yo). Pero es genial. Estás a un paso de todo, lo cual importa muchísimo cuando llegas a un lugar nuevo y no tienes ni idea de dónde tirar.
Accesibilidad: ¡Uy! Esto es importante, especialmente para mí, que a veces soy más torpe que un pingüino en una pista de baile. ¿Accesibilidad, eh? Bueno, por lo que veo, sí, hay un ascensor. ¡Aleluya! Eso ya es un puntazo para empezar. No mencionan específicamente rampas o cosas así, pero bueno, el ascensor ya es un gran alivio. Hay que confirmarlo antes de reservar si esto es crucial para ti, pero la ubicación… ¡es lo que importa!
Limpieza y seguridad: ¡Uy, lo de la seguridad en Vietnam! ¡La paranoia! Pero también, la tranquilidad que da saber que te cuidan. Aquí, parece que se lo toman en serio. Productos de limpieza antivirales, desinfección diaria en áreas comunes, ¡y hasta ofrecen la opción de que NO te limpien la habitación! (Por si eres un ermitaño como yo). Kit de primeros auxilios, personal entrenado en protocolos, ¡bueno, al menos intentan que la cosa no se ponga fea!
La habitación… ¡ay, la habitación! Vale, aire acondicionado (¡imprescindible!), wi-fi gratis (¡en todas las habitaciones, un puntazo!), cama extra larga, baño privado, ¡y hasta zapatillas! (Me encantan las zapatillas de hotel, me siento millonario por un rato). Cortinas opacas, ¡perfecto para dormir hasta la hora que te dé la gana! Caja fuerte, por si eres de esos que se preocupan por el dinero (yo, no mucho). ¡Y atención! Ventana que se abre! ¡Gloria bendita! Odio los hoteles donde no puedes respirar aire fresco.
Cosas que hacer y formas de relajarse: El paraíso (o casi)
Aquí es donde la cosa se pone interesante. El spa, la sauna, el jacuzzi, la piscina con vistas… ¡Parece que te quieren consentir! Pero, ojo, esto es Vietnam, no un resort de lujo en las Maldivas. Hay que ver qué hay y qué no. ¿Spa? Genial. ¿Masajes? ¡Necesito uno! Pero, ¿son de calidad? ¡Pregunta clave! Lo mismo con el gimnasio… ¡Hay que ver ese gimnasio! ¿Es un trastero con una cinta rota, o algo decente?
Comida y bebida: ¿A comer como un cerdo, pero con estilo?
¡Esto me emociona! Desayuno buffet (¡amo los buffets!), restaurante con cocina asiática (¡quiero pho!), bar, cafetería… ¡Perfecto para atiborrarte de comida hasta decir basta! Me gusta la opción de desayuno en la habitación, por si te da la pereza salir.
Servicios y comodidades: ¿Te lo dan todo en bandeja?
Conserjería, lavandería, ¡cajeros automáticos! (¡importante!), cambio de moneda… Todo lo que necesitas para no preocuparte por casi nada.
Vamos a ser honestos: Lo bueno, lo no tan bueno y mis rayadas personales.
- Lo bueno: La ubicación ES la clave. Despertarte y estar en el meollo es un gustazo. El Wi-Fi gratis y el desayuno buffet… ¡ya me tienen ganado! La limpieza y seguridad me dan tranquilidad.
- Lo no tan bueno: Hay que confirmar ciertos detalles. Y ojo, que "acogedor" a veces significa "pequeño". Hay que estar preparado.

¡Ay, dios mío! Here we go, a travel itinerary for staying in a pequeño cozy apartment in central RH3-101 (G floor), Vietnam. And believe me, after trying to book this thing online, I’m already craving a cerveza. This isn't going to be some perfectly polished travelogue, darling. This is real life. Get ready for the ride.
La Itinerario (…o, “The Messy Trip to Vietnam”)
(Day 1: Arrival…and Mild Panic)
- 8:00 AM (ish) - El Vuelo, finally! Okay, let's be honest. Woke up at 5 am, half-awake, rummaged in the dark, and ended up grabbing the wrong bag. Panic set in. Checked, checked, checked – passport…okay. Toothbrush…not in the bag. Perfume…also no. Sigh. ¡Esto es genial! At least I remembered my lucky socks. And caffeine. Mucho caffeine. Found my flight had been delayed by an hour. Perfect.
- 1:00 PM (local time) - Llegada a Hanói. The moment I stepped out of the airport, the humidity smacked me in the face like a warm, sweaty blanket. Dios mío, ¡calor! Got a taxi, a terrifying but exhilarating experience. The driver wove through traffic like a caffeinated spider monkey riding a scooter. I'm pretty sure he saw me white-knuckling the handles, gave a smile and a friendly shout. I understood absolutely none of it, but I knew it meant "Don't die!".
- 2:00 PM - Finding the Apartment…Maybe. RH3-101…G floor… sounded straightforward. It wasn't. Google Maps was my guide, but kept losing signal. Eventually, found the building – a charming, slightly crumbling, yet wonderfully vibrant facade. Called the host a dozen times to no avail with my Spanish-accented English. Finally, a smiling woman gestured and pointed to a door. Success. Yay! The apartment is tiny, as advertised – almost comically so - but it's clean. After finally finding the door latch, I managed to get the key in and open the door.
- 3:00 PM - Mini Apartment Orientation and Immediate Gratification. Okay, the AC works! ¡Gracias, Dios! Also, the Wi-Fi password is… unpronounceable. Managed to connect after 10 minutes. First order of business: agua fría, a shower, and a mental health break. The bed is comfortable, and there’s a teeny-tiny balcony that overlooks…everything! Motorbikes, street food, and the general organized chaos of Hanoi life. I already love it.
- 6:00 PM - Wandering and the Art of the Street Food. Time to embrace the chaos! I ventured out. First stop? A pho stand. The aroma alone was enough to make me swoon. Ordered pho bo (with beef), pointed at the various herbs, and hoped for the best. It was…a revelation. ¡Delicioso! Seriously. Best pho ever, punto. Walked around the lake admiring the sunset. Tried a few more street snacks - the banh mi was incredible, and those little fried banana things… ¡OMG! My stomach might not be speaking to me tomorrow, but it's worth it.
- 9:00 PM - The Sleep of the Exhausted Traveler. Back to the apartment. I’m exhausted but exhilarated. The sounds of Hanoi are a constant symphony of horns, chatter, and the sizzling of street food. I think I’m going to love this place. Sleeping deeply.
(Day 2: Embracing the Crazy…and the Coffee)
- 7:00 AM - Wake Up to the City. The rooster across the street apparently doesn't believe in sleep. And neither does the motorbike traffic. But I'm strangely okay with it.
- 8:00 AM - The Adventure of Coffee. This morning needed coffee. There's no coffee maker in the apartment, so, time to go out. I found a tiny café. Ordered a ca phe sua da (Vietnamese iced coffee). The coffee itself is strong and rich, mixed with a thick sweetened condensed milk. This is heaven in a glass. ¡Necesito más de esto!
- 9:00 AM - A Stroll Through The Old Quarter. Today, I delved headfirst into the Old Quarter. Holy smokes. Vendors, markets, narrow streets, and people everywhere. The streets are a labyrinth, but they're beautiful. Bought a silk scarf (negotiated the price down, of course!). Tried to buy a hat. Got distracted by the cutest puppy! Lost myself in a shop selling… everything… including a weirdly alluring collection of knock-off designer bags.
- 12:00 PM - Trying the Egg Coffee. Found a famous coffee shop, the legend goes…the owner added egg whites to the coffee so it became creamy. Tried ca phe trung (egg coffee). It’s… it’s unusual. But in the best way possible. It’s rich, frothy, and has an almost custard-like texture. Una experiencia!
- 1:00 PM - Lunch time. There's a little "mom and pop" place I spotted. I pointed at a picture, smiled, and hoped for the best. This is what I am doing here. It worked. The food was fantastic, cheap, and the waitress even tried to teach me a Vietnamese phrase. I failed miserably, but everyone laughed. ¡Buena gente!
- 3:00 PM - A Walk By the Lake. Enjoyed the peaceful Hoan Kiem Lake and watched elderly people playing chess.
- 6:00 PM - A Cooking Class. I took a cooking class. Learn how to make spring rolls. My spring rolls looked like…well, they looked unique. It was a blast. The smells, the ingredients, the constant laughter…¡Absolutamente genial! I'm not sure I'll be able to replicate it at home, but I'm going to try.
- 9:00 PM - Early Night! Exhausted. Back to my cozy little apartment. Tomorrow, I’m planning a trip up the mountains…maybe.
(Day 3: The Mountains… maybe? Definitely Shopping!)
- 8:00 AM - The Hitting of the Snooze Button. I'd planned to wake up early for a mountain day-trip. Nope. ¡Me dio pereza! I hit the snooze button. Several times.
- 10:00 AM - Shopping Spree! Okay, I'm feeling a bit guilty about skipping the mountains. So, retail therapy it is! More wandering in the Old Quarter, and I found a hidden marketplace and a shop where I bought 5 shirts.
- 1:00 PM - Lunch Time. Tried a new place with Bún Chả. The taste was exquisite, the same with the price.
- 2:30 PM - Packing for the next destination. Time to move on. ¡Adiós, Hanoi!
